Industrial Defender, Inc., the global Cyber Risk Protection(TM) leader
previously known as Verano, Inc., today announced a global expansion plan
to address growing worldwide demand for cyber security technology and
services with the appointment of Donald Simoneau as senior vice president
of worldwide operations, reporting to CEO Brian M. Ahern.
Recognizing the universal threat to global critical infrastructure systems
in the electricity, oil and gas, transportation, water and chemical
industries, Industrial Defender is broadening its resources to support
global business expansion and better serve customers with new talent in
key regions. Simoneau will be based in Industrial Defender's Mansfield,
Mass. headquarters and will oversee the newly created North American and
International field operations organization. In addition, Jonathan Pollet
was appointed vice president of North American field operations and Dan
Davis was named vice president of International field operations.
Industrial Defender has also established a new Singapore sales office in
response to significant business growth in the Asia-Pacific region and
appointed Peter Lee as business development manager.
"In recent years, the frequency and sophistication of cyber security
attacks on global critical infrastructure has greatly increased," said
Brian Ahern, president and CEO of Industrial Defender. "Don's extensive
knowledge of industrial and global markets and Peter's unique perspective
on Asian business adds critical expertise in our ability to address
mounting cyber security threats across the globe."
Simoneau brings more than 20 years experience in finance and operational
leadership with global high-tech companies to his new post as head of
operations for Industrial Defender. He began his career in the technical
workstation business at Apollo Computer and HP before becoming CFO of
Intellution, where he was first introduced to SCADA software. In his last
position, Simoneau was CEO at Longwatch, Inc., where he was responsible
for raising venture capital, establishing company operations, building the
brand and instituting a North American distribution channel. Simoneau has
an MBA from Bentley College and a B.S. in finance and computer science
from Boston College.
Combined with the Industrial Defender team's 16 years of real-time process
control and SCADA industry experience, and more than five years of
industrial cyber security experience, this new talent will better position
the company to service global market demands while providing enhanced
localized customer support. In addition to mitigating cyber security
threats, Industrial Defender's products and services help organizations
meet industry regulatory compliance, corporate governance requirements and
other global security standards including North American Electric
Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)
compliance, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 6 CFR part 27 chemical
facility regulations, National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) standards, Department of Communications, Information Technology and
the Arts (DCITA) standards and European Network and Information Security
Agency (ENISA) regulations.
Industrial Defender has completed more than 70 process control / SCADA
cyber security assessments, more than 1,300 cyber security technology
deployments, more than 3,000 mission-critical RTAP SCADA deployments and
