Publisher's description of ThreatFire AntiVirus Free Edition
From PC Tools:ThreatFire is unlike traditional antivirus products that rely on old fashioned "signature" technology and require updating every time a new threat occurs. ThreatFire's patent-pending ActiveDefense technology provides powerful protection against zero-day and emerging threats. It constantly monitors for both known and unknown viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, buffer overflows, spyware, adware and other malware. It uses behavioral analysis to hunt down and paralyze threats that are too new or too clever to be recognized by traditional "signature-based" antivirus software. ThreatFire is the perfect complement to traditional antivirus programs.
Version 4.0 improves protection of new and unknown Internet threats.

Version: ThreatFire AntiVirus Free Edition 4.0
Pros: EVERYTHING. MORE ...PEOPLE...NEED...TO...USE...THIS. It works with Windows Firewall and Defender well without slowing down your system. I also have Spybot and that seems unaffected as well. It finds threats NOBODY else does. NOBODY. The best ever.
Cons: annoying in the beginning. Prompts are often in the beginning(they stop after a while once programs are learned). The only other con is that more people are not using this!
Summary: This is the best anti-malware/spyware I have ever used. Very low usage of system resources. Some say it has a trojan(s) in it but this has been disproven as a false positive(s). Lots of prompts at the start of it but once it categorizes everything i... read more >>
